The protein ice cream category is getting crowded, but Sweet Gains is taking a different approach: make something that actually feels like ice cream first — then pack it with protein.

Sweet Gains packs 40g of dairy protein into each pint, using protein sources including whey and casein alongside ingredients like nonfat milk, cream, cane sugar and egg yolks.

That 40g number is especially interesting when many high-protein frozen desserts typically land closer to roughly 17–24g of protein per pint.

And Sweet Gains isn't trying to remove everything that makes ice cream taste good. The brand still uses real sugar and cream, while positioning itself around recognizable ingredients and avoiding the chalky texture commonly associated with protein desserts.

Flavors currently showcased by Sweet Gains include Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Caramel, Cookies & Cream, Mint Chocolate Chip, Cookie Dough and Mango.

The company has also expanded beyond its original regional availability, with nationwide shipping now available and a six-pint minimum for online orders.

With protein continuing to find its way into basically every corner of the grocery store, Sweet Gains could be one of the more interesting brands to watch in the protein ice cream space.
